New attacking options to shake up your team

With the updated squad lists now submitted, the UEFA Champions League round of 16 welcomes a number of new (and old) names to the competition. Thierry Henry's loan move means he will once again represent Arsenal FC in Europe, while Diego Forlán returns to the FC Internazionale Milano squad looking to put his injury-plagued first half of the season behind him.

European champions FC Barcelona have also added to their squad list with the inclusion of exciting 20-year-old forward Cristian Tello, who has impressed at the Camp Nou since making his debut in late January. As well as the new faces joining Europe's top table for the knockout stages, there have, of course, been a number of players exiting the competition at the group stage. So be sure to check your squad carefully and make sure all your players are still involved. To help you through this process, the Tipster has a few recommendations to guide you on your way:

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (Arsenal FC)
The 18-year-old has been causing quite a stir in the English Premier League in recent weeks with some explosive performances, not least in Arsenal's 7-1 victory over Blackburn Rovers FC when his blistering pace and direct dribbling earned him two goals and a starring role. The young winger's form has even led to speculation that he will be included in the next England squad. Brimming with confidence, Oxlade-Chamerlain is available for €5m and may have a telling role in deciding the outcome of the Gunners' clash with AC Milan.

Alexandre Lacazette (Olympique Lyonnais)
Fresh from shining at the 2011 FIFA U20 World Cup – where he was joint-leading scorer – Lacazette could prove a clever choice in a Lyon team enjoying a fine run of form and entering their round of 16 tie with APOEL FC as strong favourites. Tipped for success at the highest level, the young striker should prosper under Lyon boss Rémi Garde, his former coach in the club's youth academy. There is a strong feeling that Lacazette may have a significant role to play in the latter stages of the UEFA Champions League and he is available for €4.6m.

Edinson Cavani (SSC Napoli)
One of the stars of the group stage with four goals in six appearances, Cavani is one of Europe's most sought-after strikers. The Uruguayan international has also been in impressive form domestically throughout the winter, scoring six times already in 2012. Napoli performed impressively in the group stage and qualified from arguably the strongest pool, and with their opponents Chelsea FC enduring an indifferent run of form, and conceding goals, purchasing Cavani for €9.6m may prove to be an astute piece of business.

And finally, how about a nostalgic pick?
Just as in the real competition, it is often the managers who make the bold calls that reap the greatest rewards. So why not take a trip down memory lane and select Arsenal legend Thierry Henry in your side for the first round of knockout games? It is a risk, as unless his loan deal is extended, the Frenchman will be returning to the United States before the second leg; but at €6.5m who is to say it is not a risk worth taking? As his rmatch-winning goal against Leeds United AFC on his second debut proved, Henry tends to write his own scripts and may add to his impressive tally of 50 goals in 111 UEFA Champions League appearances when the Gunners travel to Italy – in what may prove to be his final farewell to UEFA competition.

The next transfer deadline is 20.30CET on Tuesday 14 Feb. You can make as many transfers as you like up until the deadline without losing any points.
