Well, we are about to sit down and watch the UEFA Champions League final. Fans around the world cannot wait for kick-off – this is a fixture between two domestic champions and two incredibly strong teams. This is also the last match for all of us in this Fantasy League season. I would like to say it has been a pleasure for me to compete with all of you; I really enjoyed it. The only thing that makes me sad is that I could not be involved on the playing side, but I believe I will be part of this amazing competition next season.

Final
From one point of view it is easier to pick a side for the final because there are only two teams left and you do not have so many options. On the other hand, it is pretty difficult because we can expect a very tight game in Rome.

Van der Sar selection
Edwin van der Sar is a very experienced keeper. He helped Manchester United FC to win the UEFA Champions League last season so I am keeping faith in him for the final. I needed to save some money for my forward line, so I have chosen Tomasz Kuszczak as his substitute.

In defence
Who is more likely to keep a clean sheet? FC Barcelona are very strong in attack but Chelsea FC showed how they can be stopped from playing their usual game. United have a very strong defence so that is why I have selected more of their players in my first eleven. Carles Puyol is the only Barcelona defender I have chosen.

Captain Ronaldo
Xavi Hernández and Andrés Iniesta have played a massive part in Barcelona scoring so many goals. They make chances for their team-mates and I am happy to have them both in my team. However, I am also going for Cristiano Ronaldo. He is still one of the best as he proved against Arsenal FC. He could be the player who decides the final and that is why I have given him the captain's armband. Also I have faith in Ryan Giggs' experience so he stays in my team.

Barcelona trio
I am also sticking with Lionel Messi and Thierry Henry. Their scoring record − along with Samuel Eto'o's − is fantastic. I thought about bringing a United striker into my team but I did not have much money left so I had to find a man from the bench. I remember when Eidur Gudjohnsen was playing in the Premier League – he is a good player.
